In today’s email:
Podcast conference talks have surfaced some great conversations about the current reality of podcasting lately.
Especially when it comes to the visualization of the audio. And the distribution into other media formats like video, TV, and even film.
What is podcasting? Has podcasting arrived? Are we in the future yet?
But what are we really talking about here?
We are talking about a story worth sharing.
The medium can be totally different and the best story tellers use everything at their disposal.
The greatest format today that incorporates all the arts is the film.
Many major films have related books, TV shows, toys, podcasts, plays, etc.
In other words, if you have a way of taking in the story through any of your senses, there is an option for you.
And plenty of brands want to pay you to promote it.
Now, let's zoom down to the solo podcasters and audiobook authors.
Do they have the budget or time to create a film based off their podcast or book? Probably not.
What about a YouTube video? Maybe.
So what resources do you have to get your story into as many formats and places as possible?
And what medium is your initial format to create the story?
To many in our community, it's audio. To others it might be the written word.
Start there. Then grow in formats and distribution as your story grows.
Then breathe a sigh of relief.
You don't have to solve all the mysteries of the content industry.

If you are not sure where to start with your Wavve design, try this pattern by the You Belong In The C-Suite podcast. Speaker headshot in middle center. Title in upper left corner. Episode number or title under headshot. Leave room for captions under that. Waveform animation under captions. Optional "Listen on" logos at bottom. The bottom strip can be covered up by player icons or platform overlays, so be careful there. Also be careful of the upper left corner, since some platforms put your profile badge there. Overall, this design is simple to follow, design, and re-use. Well done!
