Extreme video editing trends to watch

Are you following one of these two video editing trends with your social video?

I'm talking to many different podcasters, YouTubers, and content creators who have voiced one of two major trends I'm seeing.

Trend #1: Video editors are getting really good! I need to double down on doing fewer videos with much better editing.

Trend #2: I can't compete with these newer, complex editing techniques. So I'm just going to load the raw recorded videos or go live.

Interesting, right? On one hand, some creators are realizing they can stand out better with more investment into the edit.

On the other hand, creators are opting out of editing altogether and leaning into the content alone.

Now, granted, some creators can invest into people, time, or tools to get better edits. Others cannot.

Both should care about the content and it connecting with their audience first.

Why? Because no matter how well you edit something, the actual content of what you are delivering needs to connect.

So before you choose one of these extreme paths to go with your videos, ask yourself this question.

What am I doing to let my audience know this is the video for them?

Trailers for longer videos. Great titles. Informative thumbnails. Solid descriptions.

Give me a reason why I want to watch, and the edit becomes secondary.

I will sit through just about any edit when my kids want to watch a video about cute dogs.

I will click away immediately if 30 seconds into the most amazing edit ever, I cannot understand why BTC just pumped to the moon.

Take a moment to evaluate whether a video editing concern should be your main concern.
